Jason Clarke braves the cold in the first official image released from upcoming disaster thriller “Everest,” about, what else, a group of explorers who get into trouble on the infamous monster of a mountain.
The film follows the 1996 Mt. Everest disaster, where a massive storm killed eight climbers from three separate expeditions. Jon Krakauer’s first hand account of his experience in “Into Thin Air” made the disaster famous, though the film will pull from other books and interviews with survivors and witnesses. Josh Brolin, Jake Gyllenhaal, and John Hawkes also star, and Baltasar Kormákur just began filming.
“Everest” has been set for a February 27, 2015 release, and the first still of Clarke can be seen below.
